We are located in the community of Priddis Alberta, just west of Calgary. We started our book club in 1995 - just celebrated 10 years in January. We are local women that have raised our kids together and now are enjoying watching them all leave home - leaving more time to read. We started out with 11 members and are down to 8 and seem to be content with this number. We have enjoyed reading and meeting monthly to discuss the books - by doing so have become good friends and have supported each other through many of lifes trials. We try to do a weekend run-a-way at least once a year and pick an interesting place to go and "chill".
You will see our book list is quite extensive - we try to read Canadian books but certainly don't stop there. We read both fiction and non-fiction. We try to read some of the classics, or older books that are easier to get ahold of - and are often pleasently surprised! It always surprises us what books bring on the best discussions -this is something that cannot be predicted. We have no intention of stopping anytime soon and look forward to celebrating 15 years before we know it!
