The Book Club Where Reading Is Not Obligatory

British Columbia Book Clubs

Always wanted to join a book club but were afraid you might have to read? Join a Vancouver reading group where reading is optional.

Looking for a good excuse to meet with a bunch of like-minded louts -- tell lies, drink single malts and other high brow swill -- all under the guise of belonging to a book club? This might be for you.

We understand that you may have misgivings about belonging to any club that would accept you as a member. Let us help you overcome this fear. Join a group of men of various and nefarious backgrounds that has been meeting once a month for the past fifteen years and has been rumoured to occasionally discuss books.

Here is a small sampling of the books: Arctic Dreams Barry Lopez, Fugitive Pieces Anne Michaels, All the Pretty Horses Cormac McCarthy, A Short History of Nearly Everything Bill Bryson, No Great Mischief by Alistair Macleod. A full list is available upon request.

If you are interested in joining please tell us who you are and why you might want to join. Email.
