I too have read this. And am looking forward to the follow up, "Always A Marine". I like Preece's writing. He's direct and to the point.

I've read this. I'm an ex soldier and a lot of things rang true to me and brought back a lot of memories. I thought the author bared his sole in there and fully respect him for it. I'm also looking forward to the sequal.

I've just read a book that I got from the Amazon.ca website called "Amongst The Marines" by Steven Preece. When I read it I thought umm just another same old war story. How wrong I was, it was a warts an all personal story about life amongst the marines in the 80's era. It was violent, disgusting, hilariously funny and at the same time quite sad. All in all a good story I thought. It was eye opening what lay beneath the book cover. I'm looking forward to his sequal.
