  1. Dear Book Club Friends,

Just wanted to let you know that the CBC Radio Studio One Book Club in Vancouver has launched our Spring 2008 series, and local Book Clubs are
invited to win tickets to attend. Go to www.cbc.ca/bc/bookclub for all
the info and how to enter. The second in the series is from the irresistible Taras Grescoe, the author of The Devil’s Picnic.

His new book Bottomfeeder: How to Eat Ethically in a World of Vanishing Seafood, is his epicurean and ethically driven quest for the perfect seafood dish. He nets some shocking discoveries about the fish we eat, where they come from, and the often slimy inner workings of the multi-billion dollar industry that depends on them. Much more than a tirade against commercial fishing, however, Bottomfeeder is a food lover’s highly entertaining and provocative delight, written by an intrepid adventurer who loves to dish on what’s delicious, exciting, and ethically digestible.

Join the conversation with Sheryl MacKay, special co-host Quang Dang of C Restaurant, and Taras Grescoe! To enter to win tickets, go to www.cbc.ca/bc/bookclub

Plus, you can hear Padma Viswanathan with her stunning debut novel The Toss of a Lemon on Saturday May 17, between 8 and 9 am on CBC Radio’s North by Northwest (690 on the AM dial in Vancouver).

Thanks so much for spreading the word to fellow book lovers!

    Sheila Peacock
