COME OUT THIS WEEKEND and meet the author of The World’s Greatest Treasure Hunt; Quest For The Golden Eagle, Ron Shore, at four Chapters locations throughout Metro Vancouver. Treasure hunter enthusiasts will have a chance to meet, ask questions and have their book signed by Shore; all while benefiting a worthwhile cause. The portion of the proceeds of the book sales for the 4 days will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The World’s Greatest Treasure Hunt is a unique and exciting 12 chapter book where readers participate in a real treasure hunt, enter their answers into a secure website account and hope to be the first to solve the clues correctly. The grand prize for solving all the clues, a One Million Dollar Solid Gold Eagle weighing 18 pounds of 10k,14kt and 18kt gold, with 1.1ct pear shaped diamond eyes and 763 diamonds covering its head, handcrafted by Canadian artist, Kevin Peters. Probably the most unique aspect of this treasure is that it stands watch over the 400 year old 12.73 karat “Atocha Star” emerald. Donated from Mel Fisher’s Treasures of Key West, Florida to help raise funds for cancer research. This is the largest cut emerald from the Atocha, a Spanish Treasure Galleon which sank in 1622. In addition to a book signing and talk, the1 million dollar golden eagle will be on display for all to see. This is a great family event for parents and children alike to come out and meet a real treasure hunter and find out how they can became involved in a great treasure hunt for an even greater cause.
