We have an ideal group of 50-60'ish women who have been meeting in our homes once a month for 13 years in rural Eastern Ontario. The host provides delicious healthy snacks and wine. We choose our books about 6 months ahead and usually get them from our local Library. Our Librarian is very good about supplying us with recent best sellers. We are all Friends of the Library. We love Canadian Literature and women writers. In the summer we meet at a cottage and stay overnight and make it a real book holiday.
We find a group of 6-8 is perfect for discussion and our criterion is that we all must live within a 10 mile radius. Our discussions are informal but we have a rating system giving 10* to the best reads. The Mothercluckers Book Club has opened our eyes to a more diverse reading selection and we always have lively discussions at our gatherings.
