The_reading_club

The_reading_club started January 2004, is a North York/Toronto based book club for people of age 40+. We are a diverse group with different cultural background and experience.

We read fiction, non-fiction, and self-help books suggested by members, and meet for Sunday Brunch in different restaurants about 6 - 8 times a year.

In our meetings we discuss the book and many other things. Each member leads the discussion on the book that they suggested where they give a little bio on the author.

Some of the books that have read are:

A Fine Balance - Rohinton Mistry
Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood
Heart is a lonely hunter - Carson McCullers
Larry’s Party – Carol Shields
The Hero's Walk - Anita Rau Badami
Memories of a Giga - Arthur golen
The Diviners - Margaret Laurence
Main Street - Sinclair Lewis
The power of now : a guide to spiritual enlightenment - Eckhart Tolle
People like ourselves - Pamela Jooste
Who has seen the wind - W.O. Mitchell
