Words&Pages Ottawa

Club name: Words&Pages Ottawa

April 30, 2008: The club is full!

Memership: Women either involved in international development or have interest in international affairs and travel to far away lands. 12 members.

Words&Pages Ottawa is growing and is looking for new members. We currently have 10 women who are either involved in international work or have interest in international affairs and travel to far away lands. Books that we read and discuss are a mixture of fiction and non-fiction, mainly the ones that make us think and want to talk about it. If a book is made into a movie we might see this movie following the discussion. The idea is to broaden our reading horizons and have a group of like-minded women to talk about our impressions, thoughts, etc. The club meets at members homes on rotating basis on the last Thursday of a month from 6pm to 8pm.

Examples of the books that we recently read: Mark Steyn: America Alone; Jose Saramago: Blindness; Rory Stewart: Places in Between; Irene Nemirovsky: Suite Francaise; Salman Rushdie: Midnight's Children.
