Formed March 17, 1995.
The club started out with five members and is now at the maximum of nine. All members are women.
We meet every third Tuesday of the month, except for August and December.
We rotate leader and host positions. The leader and the host are never the same person.
Leading the discussion is easy. After the initial question of "What did you think of the book?", discussion takes off with only occasional prompting from the leader. Discussions usually last 1½ to 2 hours, sometimes even continuing into lunch.
Everyone suggests a couple of books. Then the secretary ensures that the group accepts at least one of the contributor's suggestions. If someone hasn't had one of their books read nor even suggested for a while, then the secretary would have mentioned this to the club to rectify.
We end with lunch, mainly tea, cheese, crackers, fruit, and something sweet, and either continue the discussion, or talk over future plans, or just talk on other subjects.
The whole evening lasts for about three hours.
